The Connecticut Coalition of Secular Organizations

Welcome to The Connecticut Coalition of Secular Organizations (CCSO).  We thank you for taking the time to visit our site.  CCSO is not for individual membership.  Our membership is open to Connecticut organizations that promotes & maintains secular rights & values.  Our goals and missions are:

A. To coordinate volunteer efforts of its Member Organizations.

B. To increase the visibility of and respect for nontheistic viewpoints in the United States and in Connecticut.  To help ensure the law is upheld to protect the viewpoints of non-theistic Americans

C. To promote and strengthen nontheistic organizations in Connecticut.

Atheist Humanists Society of CT/RI

Regular meetings are held on the First Thursdays of the month at 7:00pm in the Groton Public Library.

Congregation for Humanistic Judaism of Fairfield County

Friday and Saturday evening events are held throughout Greater Fairfield County. Adult Education programs, in parallel Sunday School, are held Sunday mornings in Westport. See Calendar for details.

Connecticut Valley Atheists

Regular meetings are held on the Second Wednesdays of the month at 7:00pm in the South Windsor Community Center.

The Humanist Association of CT

Regular meetings are held on the Third Mondays of the month at 7:30pm (UNSH: 700 Hartford Turnpike, Hamden, CT 06517)

Become a CCSO Member:

Membership in the Coalition is limited to nontheistic organizations operating in Connecticut whose purposes are consistent with the purposes of the Coalition (¡°Member Organizations¡±). If you're a leader or representative of a nontheistic organization in CT and would like to have your organization join with CCSO, please send an email to membership@ctsecular.org. Please be sure in include information about your organization or website(s) that may include that information. Our membership committee rep will contact you after reviewing the information you have submitted.

Secular Coalition for CT

The committee¡¯s activities may include notifying interested individuals of political issues, coordinating communications with federal, state, and other local officials, and the coordination of other political activities.

The Public Affairs Committee

The Public Affairs Committee will work to increase the visibility of and respect for nontheistic viewpoints and to protect and strengthen the secular character of our government. This committee is open to all individuals who are members of one of the CCSO¡¯s member organizations. The committee¡¯s activities may include communications with the press, public statements regarding the CCSO¡¯s objectives, and other activities designed increase public awareness of and regard for nontheistic viewpoints.

The Membership Committee

The Membership Committee will work to promote the Member Organizations and to facilitate cooperation amongst them. This committee is open to all individuals who are members of one of the CCSO¡¯s member organizations. The committee¡¯s activities may include coordination and cross-promotion of its member organizations¡¯ activities and planning of joint activities. The Membership Committee will also work to increase CCSO¡¯s membership by identifying organizations that share CCSO¡¯s mission and objectives and promoting the benefits of membership.
